October 28, 2009--CLIC GALLERY is proud to present a show by ALEX BEARD. Featured in the show will be original paintings from MONKEY SEE MONKEY DRAW, his forthcoming book for children. Beard will be signing copies of his previous book JUNGLE GRAPEVINE at the show’s opening reception on Thursday, November 5th, from 6 to 8 pm. The show will run from November 5 through November 29.

MONKEY SEE MONKEY DRAW is Beard’s newest tale from the watering hole, following JUNGLE GRAPEVINE, whose exuberantly colorful birds and animals were called “quirky and original” by the Wall Street Journal. In 2008, A.M. Homes wrote in Vanity Fair that “Beard’s paintings and ink drawings are filled with an intricate, almost mathematical dance of whimsical animals, feathers and figures, all in constant motion.”

Born in 1970, New York native Beard grew up in a household of artists and authors, including his uncle, photographer Peter Beard, and his mother Patricia Beard, an author and former editor for Town & Country, Elle, and Mirabella magazines. Beard currently lives in New York and New Orleans.

Clic Bookstore & Gallery was founded by Christiane Celle and stocks a superbly curated selection of high-quality photography and art books, including a number of hard-to-find volumes, unusual titles from small presses, and autographed copies. The gallery spaces host monthly exhibits from emerging photographers and artists.
